BRAKE AND LAMP INSPECTION (VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION)

Brakes squeaking? Does it sound like your brakes are making a noise? Don’t worry our trained technicians will diagnosis the problem (Free of Charge) and offer a solution to get you back on the road and worry free. We know brakes and do everything from replacements, turn rotors and fluid changes. And as always we will conduct a comprehensive check to ensure your vehicle is in top performing shape.

Inspection:

  1. The first step in any procedure is to determine the type of braking system the vehicle has. Most passenger vehicles have two types of brake systems installed. Disc brakes and drum brakes are the two types of braking systems installed on passenger vehicles.
  2. Once you have determined what type of braking system you have, you need to pull the wheels off the vehicle so that you can gain access in order to properly measure the components that are required to be inspected.
  3. Once you have removed the wheels, inspect the thickness of the brake pad linings. Most vehicles have a minimum specification of 2mm, so if you have more than 2mm on each pad, you should be in good shape.
  4. Next we will check the thickness of the brake disc. The disc should have the minimum spec stamped on it. If you have a dial caliper measure the thickness and make sure it is above the minimum specification.
  5. The run out of the brake disc needs to be checked. You will need a dial indicator perform this test. This test ensures that the brake disc is not warped. A common indicator of this problem is when the brakes are applied shaking from the front end can be felt.
  6. A visual inspection of all brake components will be conducted to check if there is missing, broken, or damaged brake hardware. Additionally, we will check to ensure that all components installed meet manufacture specification and are DOT compliant.
  7. The emergency brake will be checked to ensure that it is adjusted properly.
  8. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, check to ensure that the ABS light is not illuminated and that there are no active codes inhibiting the ABS brake system.
  9. The vehicle will driven and the brakes will be applied to check the stopping distance of the vehicle.
  10. The emergency brake light on the dash will be inspected to ensure it illuminates when the brake is applied.
  11. The brake lamps must operate when the brake is applied and the 3rd brake light is required to be there if it was originally equipped with a 3rd brake lamp.

Replacements: We offer quality replacement brakes, from brands like: Bendix, Akebono, Avios, Jurid, and OEM options. All the brands we carry either meets or exceeds manufacturing specs.

Turn Rotors: Any brake rotor or drum size, we can turn them all.

Fluid Change: Dot 3, Dot 4, Dot 5 brake fluid exchange.

ADAS CALIBRATION

Essential safety-critical ADAS applications include:

  • Pedestrian detection/avoidance
  • Lane departure warning/correction
  • Traffic sign recognition
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Blind spot detection

These lifesaving systems are key to the success of ADAS applications. They incorporate the latest interface standards and run multiple vision-based algorithms to support real-time multimedia, vision coprocessing, and sensor fusion subsystems.

The moderinization of ADAS applications is the first steps toward realizing autonomous vehicles.

Automobiles are the foundation of the next generation of mobile-connected devices, with rapid advances being made in autonomous vehicles. Autonomous application solutions are partitioned into various chips, called systems on a chip (SoCs). These chips connect sensors to actuators through interfaces and high-performance electronic controller units (ECUs).

Self-driving cars use a variety of these applications and technologies to gain 360-degree vision, both near (in the vehicle’s immediate vicinity) and far. That means hardware designs are using more advanced process nodes to meet ever-higher performance targets while simultaneously reducing demands on power and footprint.

PREPURCHASE INSPECTION

A pre-purchase inspection is a detailed assessment by a qualified individual to determine the cosmetic, mechanical, and safety condition of a vehicle before completing the purchase. Most pre-purchase inspections are done by a certified mechanic or automotive technician who is knowledgeable in the make and model of the vehicle being inspected. The intent of the PPI is to uncover existing conditions or to reveal maintenance shortcomings that may become potential safety or financial issues for the buyer in the future.

When should I get a PPI?
A pre-purchase inspection is highly recommended when purchasing a vehicle without a warranty, or when the vehicle is located in another city. When there is no warranty, the buyer is immediately assuming all the risk in the event of a breakdown or major mechanical issue. For this reason, a qualified PPI makes financial sense. Vehicles in other cities present additional challenges when the purchaser is unable to take a test drive. With just a few phone calls, you can often arrange a PPI with a local shop where the seller can drop the vehicle off for a few hours. The resulting PPI report gives the buyer added security during a long-distance transaction.
